Hemant Gairola has served as a co-founder of 101Reporters—a pan-India network of grassroots reporters—and has headed the city desk at Daily News & Analysis in Bangalore. Stories commissioned and edited by him have appeared in publications such as Nikkei Asia Review, Forbes, IndiaSpend, Asia Times, Mongabay India, Newslaundry and FirstPost. Hemant has a keen interest in investigative journalism and enjoys pursuing stories of public interest. He is a graduate of Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media and an InOldNews-InterNews Mobile Journalism Fellow (2021). He has also edited a book on financial frauds and ghost-written a course on media literacy for college students.
