About the training
The training would help working journalists reorient themselves to look beyond the victims in their reporting and use their lens in seeking accountability from the powerful. It will help participants understand the nuts and bolts of rigorous, evidence-based journalism, including gathering information and working with whistleblowers. The selected participants would undergo an immersive and interactive workshop to acquire skills and learn tools, methods and approaches vital to investigative journalism.The training will be conducted primarly in English.
They will learn how to gather and use data, understand government and corporate records, follow the money trail, understand the legal landscape, and tell an investigative story. The participants will also gain insight into disclosure norms in India, including the Right to Information Act, Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, and defamation laws.

Applicants from the following states and union territories can apply:
Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.
We invite applications from journalists, working independently or in newsrooms, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in reporting.
