Hello,
We’re here to share some good news from The Reporters’ Collective. Say hello to Safeena Wani, the recipient of our 3rd TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship.
Safeena is a journalist who has reported extensively from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and she’s taking on an ambitious investigation that sits at the intersection of environment and political economy, two themes that are central to the Collective’s work. Over the next few weeks, she’ll be working closely with our small team to develop this story. We’re really looking forward to what comes out of it.
Choosing a fellow is never easy. In this round, we received 36 detailed proposals which we then assessed on parameters like originality, evidence, feasibility and alignment with our mandate.
This fellowship exists because of you, our readers and supporters, who believe in journalism that truly questions those in power. And that such spaces should exist. Your contributions help journalists like Safeena take on time-intensive reporting that might otherwise not be possible.
Please consider supporting this fellowship and the investigation Safeena is about to undertake. Every contribution helps!
